Description

What do you do when you have been traveling long and hard on a hot summer day and you see a lake? Jump in, duh.

My beebee Reed and who I believe will be named Kenta from here on.

I'm super proud of this because first of all, I have been drawing things that were crappy before this and I was getting upset, but then this happened! My two beebees aaaahhh and this was good practice for water and I added butterflies beCUASE I CAN.

And I have had friends ask if this was Reed's dragon, no It's Nia's. and it's confusing because Trystan and Nia both look like me >.< but anyway Nia is the one with bluejay feathers and the jacket thing... I'm too lazy to show a picture right now... but whatever.

At first these two will not be on the best terms, but then they become bros and I think it's my brOTP
oh and if you want to consider this fan service then go ahead.

Imma make another sandwich now...

First off, the initial impact of this piece is amazing. The characters are brought into focus and the background is slightly blurred out, making it easier to see them. Then we have the colors on the dragon. His bright colors and the way you'd drawn his facial expression convey a feeling of calm neutrality. Then we add in the water across his scales and on Reed's skin. That combination makes for a truly stunning piece of art work. And I personally love the little touch of life in this piece with the butterflies. Little details like that really make a piece come alive.

The only real negative I see with this piece is the way the dragon is shaded. Having many colors like that on his hide makes shading him difficult. I recommend using darker, thicker shading to show off that he does in fact have shading, as it is difficult to see here. And it makes certain things like his horns for example, pop too much in comparison to his body.

Other than that this piece is truly incredible. I am absolutely in love with the unique design for the dragon, and he and Reed both look amazing taking a dip in the lake. Keep up the amazing work, and never stop improving!
